MS. POOJA C. KAVLEKAR
Born on 21st May 1983 at Panaji. She passed her SSC and HSSC with distinction. After completing her Higher Secondary Education in Science she joined the V M Salgoancar College of Law Goa in the year 2000. She topped Goa University in Bachelor of Laws Examination [LLB (Hons)] by securing Two Gold medals. She joined the bar in the year 2005 and has practised as an advocate in both litigation and non litigation field. During this period she also successfully passed several competitive examinations held by the Goa Public Service Commission.
In the year 2007 was selected as Civil Judge Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class and underwent 8 weeks induction training at Judicial Officers Training Institute, Nagpur. In the same year she successfully completed LLM with Human Rights as her field of Specialization. She again topped Goa University in Master of Laws (LLM) Examination by securing Two Gold Medals. She secured highest marks in Constitutional Law and bagged the Prof V S Mallar Gold Medal at LLM Examination. As a part of Post graduation programme she has prepared Research Paper on the subject “Equality In Political Representation For Women in Goa” .
She been a distinction holder throughout her academic career. As a student, she has represented and won accolades for her college and the State of Goa in various National and International level moot court and quiz competitions. She was a member of the core Team of Porvorim Free Legal Aid Cell which undertook paralegal activities like holding legal awareness camps, interactive sessions, legal literacy camps in villages and schools, debates and discussions on current legal issues. She was a member was National Service Scheme and Junior Red Cross . At a State Level Seminar on Human Rights of Women conducted by the V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Panaji she prepared and presented a research paper titled “Self Employment for Women In Goa: Contemporary Issues and Problems”.
She has attended the the 82nd Course on Criminology and Forensic Science and 1st Seminaar on Domestic Violence organized by the LN JN Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science , Rohini Delhi, in the year 2009 and 2010 respectively. Has worked as Civil Judge Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao from 2007 to 2010. During this period she also held additional charge of Canacona Court for one year.
She is presently posted as Ad-hoc District Judge-2 & Asst. Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, Panaji-Goa.
